If you are new to my story, exactly 2 years ago I was given a terminal cancer diagnosis with 3 months left to live. My breast cancer had came back to take over my body by residing in my liver-9 masses, and the top and bottom of my spine. So, we planned my funeral, closed my businesses, and as a last ditch effort to at least be used for research, I agreed to start a trial of medicinal treatment. We are now finishing up my 24th month of living since that diagnosis, with the last 6 scans being considered CANCER FREE!🙏

This past week brought another clear scan(PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW), so in turn another reason in my mind to go toe to toe with my oncologist, and stress him out proposing to come off of my chemo for the summer. My thoughts are, if I am indeed “cancer free” than why can’t I take a break from my daily poison tablet?🤮

My super patient doctor laced up his metaphorical gloves, and we began to spar via debate. I must admit from my earliest memory of existence my mind has always remained in a state of, but why?! Unfortunately, for my mom, “because I said so,” never sufficed for me. So, as our debate match drew to a close, I heard my doctor’s reasons for keeping me on the chemo and we agreed on a compromise, well for now😉…

BUT, as my restless mind falls trapped in deep thoughts here in bed, I have latched on to one of my doctor’s final statements, “I know you say you are living for heaven, but you can do that later, and while you are here I want you to live well for as long as possible!”

So my thoughts are naturally, WHY?!

Why should I keep taking my medicine to prolong my life here, when indeed if I stop, I can be in heaven?

What’s my reason for life in the first place?

After listening to 5 hours of sermons and worship music, I have concluded an answer:
JESUS CHRIST ✝️

To know Him, to love Him, and to serve Him. That truly is my reason for living in which ever world HE sees fit.

I learn more and more of who I am, as I find myself surrendering to “Who’s I am.”

These lyrics sum up to me, my reason for continuing to take my medicine to fight the good fight of living here on earth…

🎵I’m just a nobody
Trying to tell everybody
All about Somebody
Who saved my soul
Ever since You rescued me
You gave my heart a song to sing
I’m living for the world to see
Nobody but Jesus🎵

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
